I think I may have finally recovered from June. 🙂 My body and brain pretty much told me on Monday that I had been pushing too hard, and I’ve been gaining back my energy all week. Having a holiday yesterday certainly helped!
I had people ask me to fill in details on the Heather Ross event. You may have seen on her blog, but it was a big success! It was loads of fun, and I won a voicemail recording by Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York. This pleases me in ways I can’t even begin to explain. 🙂 My quilt did in fact get auctioned off, and it went for a nice amount of money, so I’m really pleased about that! I did have to leave during the auctioning of it, which made me feel like a huge dork, but I AM a huge dork, so I suppose that’s fair.
Before the event, I went to our guild’s sew day, and I managed to finish my blocks for the Friends + Fabric bee I’m in. For June, we were asked to make granny square blocks in bright colors. I can do bright. 😀 Below are the blocks I made.
Next month is my month, so I get a bit of a breather!
I have two projects going on now that I’m focusing on. The first is a small improv mini using Oakshotts. I’ve sketched my idea and gotten as far as laying out the fabric in the color order I want.
The second project is to get some more progress made on the bento box quilt. I really want to finish it before I decide I don’t like the color scheme anymore. 🙂 I already wish I had added some golden yellow in there, but maybe I’ll put it on the back or the binding.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
