LOVE the colors!!!!! No need to say more.
I am hopeful this means we’ll get more purple options in fabrics. 🙂 I’ve had a lot of trouble finding purple in the past, and it’s definitely its turn to shine!
Blerg. What is with the purple. I do like the Collage print, but thats IT.
Hahaha well, at least it’s only for a year. 🙂 And who knows, maybe it will grow on you as the year progresses?
I love purple! I just have a hard time incorporating it in some of my projects, why is that I wonder. Anyway, they get my vote!
I like purple as well. 🙂 I do enough stuff with rainbow that I always find room for purple! But if you want it to be a feature in your quilt, it’d work great as a pop color with a yellow/gold/yellow-orange project (complementary), or if you want something calmer, aqua, purple and silver/grey (analogous) would be really pretty!
It’s pretty. I wouldn’t want my living room painted in it, but it is still a pretty color. 🙂
Yah, that’d be a bit much for me as a wall color! Pantone’s color of the year is almost always related to fashion, which means that it should be showing up in fabrics. 🙂
I like it! I hope someone runs another Pantone Colour of the Year challenge – this would be a fun one!
Ohhh I hope so, too! I’d love to partake. 🙂 Is it normally the Modern Quilt Guild who runs it?
I love purple (it was the colour of my first car!) so I’m very happy with this one!!!!! Great fabric selections
Oh wow, purple is a fairly uncommon car color here in the states, and now that it’s been brought to my attention, I think that’s a great sadness! I’m excited to see more of this shade popping up over the next year. 🙂
The color looks more pastel then the actual radiant orchid in the picture. But I do love purple.
The color in the background isn’t the color of the year, which I know is a bit confusing. The color is the color in the orchid itself. 🙂 I had just the paint chip but it was boring, so I chose the more confusing picture. Form before function, I know, bad designer!
I’m a purple fan so this delights me no end. Here’s hoping there will be lots more purple appearing in prints.
It’s always fun when the color of the year coincides with a favorite! 😀 I feel like it’s a bit of a negative feedback loop that we have going on currently. There are few purple prints –> There are no purple prints I like, therefore I don’t get anything in purple –> Fewer purple prints are made because no one buys them. I’m really hopeful this will break the cycle. 🙂
I have loved this color for ages….I mean look at those fabrics from Joel Dewberry, Anna Maria Horner, + Tula Pink 🙂
Yes!! Every time I look up the pantone colors for the new year, I’m ALWAYS finding links to my man Joel and AMH. And Tula is quickly gaining ground!
I actually succumbed to the purple craze today and bought a FQ bundle of purple, so I guess they’re dead on. At least for fabric things – not so much decor, I think. Lovely fabric choices in your collage though.
Commmmeeee toooo theeee purrrrpleeee sidddeee! lol
I’ve had a hard time getting purple fabrics I like, so I’m hopeful this means there will be more selection over the coming year!
