After getting talked down from my original idea (which was seriously cray-cray and I was having trouble getting it to a point that I was happy with which should have been a sign), I went back to the drawing board for the Dragon Quilt of Doomity-Doom-Doom-Doom.
I came up with something much simpler and I am so much happier with it! And yes, this is way simpler than my original idea. You can understand why my friend laughed at me, now.
Once the design was mocked up, I was able to make some good forward progress on it this weekend! I’m really loving the way it’s coming together, and this is the first quilt I’ve made in which I’m going to have a hard time giving it up. On the other hand, it’s going to my niece so I can visit it often. 🙂
Hoping to have the quilt top finished this week (who needs sleep?) so I can get the back, basting, quilting and binding done by Christmas. I’m definitely going to be cutting it close with this one!
Linking up to WIP Wednesday with Lee @ Freshly Pieced.
