Thanks everyone for the positive response to my first color tutorial on how colors work together in context. I have a bunch more ideas for future tutorials, which I can’t wait to share!
So this weekend did not go as I had hoped, and no work was made on the Dragon Quilt of Doomity-Doom-Doom. (The name is going to grow along with the length of my procrastination, apparently.)
However, I did get the quilt back finished for my bento box (no pictures, though 🙁 ) and I got two tops and two backs pressed and starched and mailed out to the long-armer. I cannot WAIT to get them back! 😀 Lots of pictures when they return, I assure you.
Turned out pressing took up most of my sewing time, but I also finished up the last bee blocks of the year, for the Friends + Fabric 2 bee. Our intrepid leader chose the block for the month, and she had us create these super fun wonky braid blocks in fuchsia/purple, aqua and grey. If you want to make some of your own, she posted a tutorial on her blog @ SunnyInCal.
So now there REALLY is nothing else more pressing than the dragon quilt. So I will hopefully have some actual progress to show later this week!
Linking up to WIP Wednesday @ Freshly Pieced.

Love it! You MUST keep the name — “Dragon Quilt of Doomity-Doom-Doom”. Too funny.
Well I can tell you that the name won’t be getting any longer, because I finally started it!! I have exactly zero clues as to what I’m doing, but I’m certainly not letting something silly like that stop me. 😉
Yay for starting it!! I’m sure it will be fantastic, (and i too vote to keep the awesome doomity doom name!)
I sure hope so! So far it’s been a series of missteps and unexpected challenges. lol At this rate, there’s no way it’s getting rid of its name! 😉
Your fabric choices make me want to be a better man.
I’d be terrified if you were any better than you are now! <3
Sometimes the “Regular” life really can take over can’t it:( Ah well at least you were able to press some things and do your Friends and Fabric bee blocks!
Honestly it was the pressing taking FOREVER that ate up all my sewing time. Who knew?! Well okay, I suppose I should have known. And I’m happy to have the last obligation sewing done for the year! 😀 Now I can just focus on the Christmas presents which is fun sewing!
Love your bee blocks, such a wonderful selection of colours and fabrics!
Thank you! I really liked working with the colors she picked. 🙂 Perfect for winter!
The DQoDDD must be start soon, or else!! Wine color purple with icy blues and snow cloud grays is the perfect winter palette.
It’s started! And I’m already wishing I’d done some stuff differently, but yay for procrastinating until there’s no time to make changes! 😉
Your description of the colors makes them sound so awesome! It was fun working with them, that’s for sure. 🙂
