I hoarded fabrics for this quilt for over a year, and have had the cut pieces sitting around for 6 months. And for whatever reason, I’ve recently gotten excited about working on it again.
At first I created each square carefully, but it was taking a really long time, and I worried that it’d be that much harder to cut them up when it was done.
So I’ve now gone into production mode. I have the first border done, time to start working on the next one!
I’m not sure how much more progress I’m going to make on this for the month. There’s a charity that I really want to donate to, which may end up taking precedence.
What are you all working on this week?

I’m finishing the jacket for my Mad Hatter’s Steampunk Tea Party, our Shop Hop shop theme.
Ooooh are you going to bring that tonight?? I love steampunk, so I am super excited by your store theme!
Pretty! I LOVE the colours you’re using in this quilt. I spy lots of favourite fabrics too!
Thank you! There are definitely a lot of my favorites in here, too. I’ve been saving them for “something special” and figure my first quilt for myself should qualify!
oooh – I’ll cut them up for you 🙂
LOL thanks Charlotte! I saw someone else working on one of these quilts, and she got to the end and decided to not cut them up. I was so surprised when I read that and didn’t understand. NOW I understand. But I love the look of the cut up version so much better, so I will force myself to cut in the end!
