As some of you may be aware, we’ve been working on a new version of the palette builder tool. We took a lot of the feedback we got from the previous version (mainly: wanting more control) and rolled it into a new tool!
We consistently had people asking where the colors came from. So now the tool shows a circle over a pixel matching that color. What’s more, you can move any of the circles to a different color, and it will update the palette real-time! We also had people mention that they wanted to remove colors from the palette. Hover over the color you don’t like, and click the “-” button. Now it’s gone! There’s also the ability to add another color, or reset back to the original palette.
We’re really excited about the new version, and we can’t wait to get feedback from you all about it. We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
There are still a few more things that we’re working on, but we wanted to start getting your feedback as soon as possible to make sure we focused on the right things. So, please, don’t be shy!
In the meantime, please share your palettes with us in our flickr group! We love seeing them all!
Go check out the new palette builder and let us know what you think!

Love the tool. I think it does a great job with the choices in the photo. I will be looking at this tool in more detail that is for sure. Thanks for sharing it.
I guess I have been living under a rock because I didn’t know this existed…what an incredible tool! Thanks for sharing!
this rocks so much i might just start making palettes and stop making jewelry and sewing (bad)…and shopping for beads and fabric (good). i actually LOVE the fact that if you WANT to tweak, you can, but it’s also kind of interesting to just get the surprise of what is automatically generated! just what i needed…more “ideas” – not!
