Pantone Challenge Reminder

Hey everyone! Remember the Pantone Challenge? How’s it going? Adrianne and I are super excited to see what you’ve been making!

The link-up is coming SOON, but it’s not too late to make something! Remember that there is a tops-only category and a mini category (which includes bags and other non-quilt things if you want to go that route.)

The link up startsΒ April 17 and runs untilΒ April 24 2015. Entries will close at on April 24 at 11pm PST and winners will be announced on April 29 2015. I know it’s a tricky color and I can’t wait to see what you all have done!

And in case you think everyone is way ahead of you, I just started mine last night!! I took one of the patterns I created using equal, and am trying to make it a reality.

I really need to figure out a way to make the program calculate the sizing, because it turns out triangle maths is not the same as square maths (you can’t just add .5″ for seams). Go figure, right?? But in order to get the program to do it right, *I* need to know how to do it right, so there’s a bit of a stumper. πŸ˜‰

pantonepalette

Here’s the palette I’m using.Β From left to right (all Konas): Charcoal, Raisin, Eggplant, Bordeaux, Crimson and Cocoa. I’m using Cocoa as my “Marsala.” In case you’re wondering, “why is she using that weird orangeish brown color for Marsala?” (which btw is what I keep thinking as I work on this), this is why.

marsalabrown

Oh neutrals, you are so fickle! That bottom color is the Cocoa when surrounded by browns. Crazy, isn’t it?? It’s the closest Kona I’ve found to Marsala, although like all of them, it’s not a perfect match.

I am really excited to see what you all have brewing for the challenge! There are lots of great prizes to be won this year, and you can read all about them and get the rest of the rules of the challenge here.
