It’s the end of Quarter 1 of the Finish-A-Long hosted by Leanne at She Can Quilt. On Thursday during the week of tutorials associated with the FAL, I’ll be doing a photography tutorial with tips that you can utilize regardless of your camera equipment! But for now, it’s time to review my list!
This is the first time I’ve played along, and I finished half the things on my list. Three out of six isn’t bad, right? Let’s take a look.
#1. DONE – Sew, Sew Modern Swap – Started with just a pillow front, but I was able to finish the pillow and make the matching journal cover as well. You can read more about this project here.
#2. DONE – Madrona Road Challenge Quilt – The top wasn’t quite done when this started. I finished the quilt and it was picked by Violet Craft as one of her top 10! (Still incredibly flattered by that!!) I wrote a lot about the design process here, and I keep meaning to write a tutorial on how I did the binding. I just need a project that’s ready for binding so I can take pictures!
#3. DONE – Tote Swap – Technically, after reading the FAQ for the end of the quarter, this shouldn’t have been on the list to begin with. Oops! Now I know for next quarter! However, it did get done! I did some fun paper piece design work on this one, and you can read more about it here.
#4. April & Kerry’s quilt – Cutting the pieces for this is going to be my goal for April (the person, AND the month). I made zero progress on this so far. Well, not true. I cut a few pieces. so maybe 1% progress.
#5. Quilt for me! – Zero progress. I don’t seem to be a very high priority on my list. lol
#6. NuBees Quilt – I started working on the back in Anna Maria Horner’s workshop at QuiltCon, but it has grown into something more involved and may end up being it’s own quilt top. So I need to come up with a new back and finish this thing.
Time to start planning next quarter’s FAL list!
