Oh man, where is December going? Is it just me or is this year disappearing far too fast? I’m feeling like I’m falling behind on Christmas prep!
In Progress:
Mod Pop – This week, most of the progress was on finishing the back of my mod pop quilt. Remember that quilt? I can’t believe I haven’t worked on it since the first week of November! Oops. I am borrowing a friend’s floor tomorrow to do the basting, so hopefully that means a finished quilt reveal next week!
I used two different solids for the back, the left, darker side is Indigo in Michael Miller’s Cotton Couture (it looks almost black in person), and the right side is Kona Cotton Nautical. The chain is reverse of the front side, and I used up a bunch of leftover curved pieces that way!
HexiesΒ – Still slowly working on these. We have a game night almost every week, and I have started bringing my hexies along, so at least I get a little bit done each week.
No Progress:
April & Kerryβs Quilt: I hate cutting, still.
Sew, Sew Modern: Was hoping to make progress on this one, but the mod pop back took longer than expected.
Low Volume Improv Log Cabin: No time for this until after the holidays probably.
Picture Pieced side swap: Need to choose a pattern!
Linking up to the WIP Wednesday post on Freshly PiecedΒ (look, Lee updated the button design, it’s so pretty!)

Love your backing! Beautiful!
& the hexies are very cool! Great job! One day I will try them. Think they are a winter project!
It feels good to have the back done, it was holding me up for ages! Hexies are wonderful for winter, it’s true! Curl up with a nice quilt and some hot cocoa and fun TV and go for it. π
Your mod pop quilt looks great, and your hexies are lovely too!
Thanks so much! I just basted the mod pop tonight, so I will hopefully get some quilting done on it this weekend!
I just love your quilt, I thought I was the only one without floor space to layer a quilt, being a newbie I did’nt think about space so I’m still working on that one.
The hexis look brill.
Trust me, you’re not the only one with floor space! π Even if I DID have space, I have a Saint Bernard and two cats who would “help” and it would just be a disaster! I got a chance to hang out with a friend tonight, and got it basted! Now on to quilting. *gulp* The hexies have been a lot of fun, but I already have a plan for another EPP project! I’m not sure the speed of hexies fits with my project ADD. π
I love the backing for your mod pop quilt.
Thank you! I’m really happy that it’s done! Trying to figure out a design for the back has been holding me up on this quilt for over a month now. :O
Love the blue around the hexies instead of white.
Thank you! I got that idea from Elizabeth Hartman’s latest hexie project and just fell in love with it. π Of course I already want to start a new project. Why isn’t this one done yet?!
Both of your projects look great! I love your fabric choices.
Thank you! Picking the fabric is definitely my favorite part of a project! It’s sometimes a little unfortunate how much there is to do between picking the fabric and having a finished project…lol
ModPop is looking fantastic!
Thank you!! I just finished basting it tonight, so hopefully I can get it quilted this weekend! I am trying to finish it for Christmas and I’m running out of time. :O
I love all those blues! I love using up leftovers like that. π
I have been really love navy lately (you’d never guess by my project choices.. okay maybe you would hahaha) and I am so happy I didn’t have to piece any more curves for the back! While I don’t mind doing it anymore, it is just pretty time consuming!
Your hexies look flawless!
You’re always so nice! Trust me, they are not. π I keep finding little holes where the three hexies meet, oops! And there’s the little matter of me not thinking to match thread when I was sewing the pieces together for the first two rosettes. But y’know other than that and a few other issues, they’re perfect! π With that said, they look good enough, so I’m happy with it!
