WIP Wednesday

The end of the month is approaching rapidly, and somehow I’ve managed to get all my January deadlines met!

Madrona Road Challenge Quilt – Finished this, and I made a fairly thorough post about how the design process went for it.

Sew Sew Modern Swap – More pictures available at the blog post here. Shipped it out this morning! I get impatient at this step. I wish the mail was more instant gratification!

In Progress

Handstitched Class – I’ve finished the first assignment for my Handstitched class, which is the dogwood blossom center + handstitching around it, and the three borders. My muse is rather sadistic and I had the idea to line up the two prints in the center. Because it was handstitched, it was actually a lot more forgiving than it would have been with the machine! This week we’re embroidering the white larger border, so I’ve picked out the colors for that.

Skill Builder BOM – For the Skill Builder Block of the Month, I’ve gotten the two January blocks done. I am using rainbow shot cottons with low volume prints. For the blocks that use fewer colors I’m doing a warm or cool split of the colors. It uses quilt as you go, so I need to add borders to these blocks, but I can’t decide if I’m going to do more low volume prints as the border or stick to neutral solids. Any opinions?

No Progress:

Basically anything that wasn’t due this month didn’t get done.
April & Kerry’s Quilt – Cutting out all the pieces is one of my goals for February.
Tote Swap – Will probably get to this after QuiltCon! (OMG QUILTCON)
A Quilt for Me – Maybe in March?
NuBees Quilt – This may end up being my February Lovely Year of Finishes goal so I’ll stop putting it off.

Linking up to the WIP Wednesday link party hosted by Lee @ Freshly Pieced! I love looking at all the great projects people are working on.
