I leave at 7 in the morning for QuiltCon, and I still haven’t packed yet. No worries, right?! (As an aside, posts will be light until I get back next Tuesday.)
Here’s a quick WIP post before I leave.
Friends + Fabric February Bee Blocks – Linda Beth asked for appliquéd circles in dusty colors on tan/beige/cream background. These were really fun to make! I definitely want to do more appliqué. Of course, I just realized I never sent these. I’ll have to do that when I get back!
Pincushion Swap – Alyssa at Pile O’ Fabric is hosting a meetup at QuiltCon, along with pincushion swap. I’ve never actually made a pincushion before, but the cathedral window tutorial has been taunting me for a while so I was excited to give it a try. I used my favorite text prints plus a great faded-photo-style blue shot cotton, and linen on the back. I definitely want to make another for myself!
Name tag – I started making a name tag my first MQG meeting, but I never finished it — I didn’t like how it was turning out. But I felt like I should make one for QuiltCon (maybe it’ll make up for my complete lack of handmade bags?) so here it is. This is try #3, and I’m fairly happy with it. I put a pocket on the back for business cards and hotel keys and such. I was going to divide it for those smaller type business cards but forgot to do it before I fused both sides to the peltex. Oh well!
Modern Medallion Quilt – Yep, handstitched class is still going. I didn’t get the storm at sea blocks done before heading out, but I did get the patchwork done. I decided to go with the dark blues/navies and I really like the way it is turning out. One more round after this, and the top will be done!
Skill-Builder BOM – Still need to quilt my blocks.
April & Kerry’s Quilt – Cutting out all the pieces is one of my goals for March.
Tote Swap – Need to do this after QuiltCon
A Quilt for Me – Maybe in March?
NuBees Quilt – My February Lovely Year of Finishes goal, but it may get rolled over into March’s goal.
