WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday

I still feel like I’m trying to get caught up after being gone for so long at QuiltCon, which means less time at my sewing machine. But I am actually making progress again!

Finished

SBAMQG Tote Swap - The South Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild had a tote swap that was due at our guild meeting which was tonight. Our swaps are so much fun! It’s a great time trying to guess which member the item is for, and some are so obviously for a specific person. The tote I received was definitely meant for me, and I’ll post pictures and talk more about mine tomorrow. But for now, here is the one I made for our guild president, Tina. (No pressure.)

Progress

stormatsea

Handstitched Class Modern Medallion Quilt - I tried a couple variations on the storm at sea blocks and ended up just going with this one because I feel so behind. I am enjoying this quilt, but at the same time I’m looking forward to working on a quilt that doesn’t have so many deadlines. I like to savor the design process, and this just feels like I am constantly left making a decision so I can just get to the next step. With that said, I am happy with how it’s turning out..I think!

No Progress

Skill-Builder BOM – Still need to quilt my blocks, and make February’s blocks!
April & Kerry’s Quilt -
Cutting out all the pieces is one of my goals for March.
A Quilt for Me - Maybe I’ll make some progress on that this month?
NuBees Quilt - My February Lovely Year of Finishes goal, but I didn’t finish. Debating if this or cutting the pieces for April & Kerry’s quilt should be my March goal.

Linking up to Lee’s WIP Wednesday link party, guest hosted by Claire Jain from Sewing Over Pins!

    • Thank you! My partner likes the more toned down color palette, so it was a bit of a challenge to shop my stash, but I managed! :D

    • Awww, thank you! It was like putting together a super tiny paper-piecing puzzle, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

  1. I am a huge fan of your medallion quilt. It doesn’t look rushed at all! BTW way to be ahead of the curve on this medallion craze of late.

    • Hahaha I’ve noticed that medallion quilts are catching on, although I didn’t make up the pattern for this one. I kind of want to do another of my own design, though. It’s a nice break from a patterned thing that does not require making a bajillion of the same block.

  2. Oh my, what an awesome and cute bag! That house is adorable!

    • Thank you!! The house is based on her blog logo, and I had fun making it into a paper-piecing pattern. :D

  3. That tote is too cute!! Love the blue in your hand stitching.

    • Thanks so much! I was scared to use the navy on the handstitched quilt, but now that it’s done, I am so glad I did!
