WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday

As I stated in my earlier post, I have been sick, so I haven’t gotten a ton done. But that’s not gonna stop me from making a WIP check-in!

Progress

handstitchedprogress

Modern Medallion - I managed to finish the Storm at Sea corner blocks, and get that border onto the quilt. However, I want to finish organizing all my fabrics before pulling fabric for the next round.

Sew Sew Modern 2 - I’m going to be making the Multi-tasker tote by Anna Maria Horner or the 241 tote by Noodlehead using some of these fabrics. I’ll need to pull more before I’m done, but again with the organizing all my fabrics…

Heather Ross Drawing Challenge - We’re one week in now, and I’m super pleased with my progress so far! I’ve made sketching part of my lunch break at work, so I get 15-30 minutes in a day.

Sewing Room Organization - I just bought more comic book boards, and hopefully have enough to finish this project off now. This is super time consuming, but I know it will be creatively enabling when it’s done! Once all the fabric is sorted and boarded, I’ll rearrange based on color.

No Progress

Skill-Builder BOM – Still need to quilt my blocks, and make February’s blocks!
April & Kerry’s Quilt -
Cutting out all the pieces is one of my goals for March.
A Quilt for Me - Maybe I’ll make some progress on that this month?
NuBees Quilt - My February Lovely Year of Finishes goal, but I didn’t finish.

  1. I love your phrase ‘creatively enabling’, I did a tidy up last month, and it definitely improved my creative options.

    • I kept finding myself using the same fabrics because they were the ones that I knew where they were. lol I figured that was a sign that it was time to do some organizing. ;)

  2. That cabinet is looking fancy. While you clean up, just send any unwanted fabric my way.

    • Hahahaha I have a bunch of fabric I got at JoAnn’s before I knew anything about quilting. Some of it has red splotches from where I washed it all together and the dye ran. You sure you want it? ;)

  3. Oooh, all sorts of lovely! I’m partial to the 241 tote myself, but with that stack of fabrics, I can’t imagine you’ll go wrong either way!

    • I love the 241 tote, too!! I’ve seen such wonderful variations on it. But the multi-tasker is a bit bigger and has similar stylings, which makes me thing it’d be equally accommodating to variations. Choices choices!!

  4. I am very jealous of you organized fabric! It will be wonderful when done – so much inspiration! Love you modern medalion – it’s coming along really well!

    • I just finished folding the last of the fabrics last night!! Now on to figure out the best way to color sort it. :)
And then I will be all set to actually do some sewing this weekend! I can’t wait!

  5. Ooooh those cabinets!! I would love to be able to see all my lovely fabrics like that. And I dream of being able to keep my scraps in nice jars once my little ones are less likely to break one. Both bags are so cute! I have a bag-making itch right now.

    • I’ve never made a more than a tote bag before but I’m super excited to try this one! I think it’ll be a lot of fun. :)
The cabinets are from IKEA so they’re fairly reasonably priced. I spent a LONG time playing with the setups of their different systems to find something that worked for my space and needs. :)
