Top: Water with Oakshotts

I got some spare moments to sit down and work with the water bundle by Oakshott which I received as a prize from Lily’s Quilts. Improv curves look tricky but come together so quickly, I had this done in no time. (It also helps that this is a mini-quilt!)

I’m working on a tutorial to go along with it in case you want to try some improv curves as well! I need to finish the quilting before I can finish the tutorial, though.

This is the spiritual successor to a previous Oakshott quilt I made, inspired by the Antelope Canyons in Arizona. With this water bundle, I was more inspired by the Bay Area and Northern California, with it’s rolling hills, lakes and ocean views.

I continue to love working with Oakshotts. They aren’t as thin as other shot cotton I’ve worked with, and the colors are truly lustrous.

Next up: figuring out the quilting!
