Happy Wednesday! (Okay, almost Wednesday here on the west coast.) I’ve made some progress on things this week, and have one commitment off the list (which of course means I added another..)
I finished up the last of the NuBees blocks for the month. I’ll hopefully have some time to work up a tutorial next week, assuming teaching doesn’t eat up all my time. I signed up to do an angel block for NuBees, and I was assigned Gillian which we both thought was really funny. I always make her whatever block I’m doing for the month anyway, so that made that easy! I also agreed to do a side swap with someone else, so I ended up with 6 blocks for the month. Fortunately these go together quickly.
Because NuBees was done, I decided I’d get started on the Mod Pop QAL hosted by Leanne at She Can Quilt. I decided that I could do this as long as the quilt was a Christmas present. The recipient I have in mind loves navy and grey, so I’ve been pulling fabrics and debating whether I want the navy or the grey to be the focal fabric. I finally cut out the pieces and laid them out to decide, and then photoshopped the block as a tile so I could see what a larger portion of the quilt might look like.
Here they are repeated in photoshop:
What do you all think?
3×6 blocks – NuBee blocks were due first, so I wanted to finish them up before moving back to the 3×6 blocks.
Wedding Quilt for April – 1/4 of the pieces are cut out.
Dissertation Quilt – 3 of 30 blocks done.
Nyan Cat Quilt – still in planning stage.
