Wow, it’s Wednesday already! It’s been a whirlwind of a week, especially as I’ve had family in town. Anne and I graduated on Sunday, getting our PhDs! Neither of us could keep these big goofy grins off our faces all day!
But I did manage to sneak in a bit of sewing time! I’ve made this block for my first ever swap, the Nubees block swap on flickr. This one’s for Angie over at Sew Scrappy Quilts. She asked for blues on a white background, and she mentioned she has a koi pond at home, so I thought the koi print I’m also using in my photo inspiration quilt (but in navy) would be appropriate. The design is PioneerValleyGirl‘s “Walk in the Park”, reversed engineered from Lisa’s photo on her blog, Shiner’s View. I’m pretty happy with how this turned out!
I have three more to make for my hive, all in the next few days. But now that graduation is over, life is calm for a couple of weeks at least…
Finished: PhD (!!), Nubees block for Angie
In Progress: Photo inspiration quilt, remaining nubees blocks
Up Next: A surprise birthday gift for my niece, dissertation quilt.
Linking up to Lee over at Freshly Pieced, who is taking a well-earned break and has Sukie filling in for her today! Thanks Lee for the party, and Sukie for stepping in to keep it going for the rest of us. 🙂
